29.09.2018: Glendalough, Ireland

Well, today started off rough with a few transportation issues. We woke up having planned to go to Glendalough on a bus, but as it turns out, majority of Dublin public transit goes to hell in a hand basket on Saturdays. One bus driver looked us dead in the eye and kept driving past the stop, even though the bus number was listed and the time read "due"... Interesting. Cab came to the rescue 30 bloody minutes later which really pushed us to a tighter time with the St Kevin's bus we were supposed to catch. Unfortunately for us, he took us to the wrong stop and we watched our bus drive right on by on the other side of the road... Sweet. So we race over to where the opposite side and whoosh, there goes another one. I ran, Case ran, we waved our arms. No luck. There goes our day, we thought.

In a last ditch effort, we caught another cab to take us to an Enterprise to see if there was any chance they had any automatic vehicles that we could rent for the day. Finally, we came upon something good! They had an automatic Ford Galaxy for rent! For those of you not familiar with the vehicle, it's a very stylish, very zippy, very spacious mini van. Were we in for a treat! The gentleman working was a sweetheart also, and having lived in Toronto, he gave us a steal of a deal. Thanks Enterprise guy.

We finally got on the road and drove the 1 hr to Glendalough, which was a lovely 4 hr hike up around the Irish mountains/hills and the upper and lower lakes. Now that we're back in our Air BnB, safely due to the smooth agility of the Galaxy, we're looking forward to heading up to Belfast tomorrow.

*not an engagement picture. Calm down.

Case missed it, but I did click my heels with loads of grace.

Yay... Stairs

"Think we can drink this?" "No, I think sheep probably sh*t in it"

Move it or lose it

At the top!

Look directly into the sun. Perfect. Now smile.

See the deer in the distance!

Hmm, probably shouldn't drink this either

Poor George the dog had a rough time going across this bridge, but he made it!

Les Misérables

That's a nice boulder...

Could definitely be a hermit if I wanted

Rocks split using the feather-and-wedge method, which my Dad and I have done at home!

Casey's focus skills are impeccable. The masonry really shines here.
