We have spent the last two days in Edinburgh and the day before we stayed in Alyth, with a cousin of Courtnie's neighbours from home. The family owns a working farm that has a gift shop, cafe and self-catered lodging that they converted out of old stone farm buildings and she gave Courtnie and I a room in her house for the night which was very kind!
While in Edinburgh we toured the Royal Mile and the Edinburgh Castle. We both have really enjoyed the city, with its architecture and history. What we didn't know before was that there is a lot of Harry Potter history in Edinburgh, which is great because Court is just finishing up the series and I am about to start. J.K. Rowling actually wrote the first book in a local cafe, and she gathered a lot of her inspiration for parts of the book from the city, such as Diagon Alley which was based on Victoria street!
Tomorrow, Courtnie and I are flying to Geneva to start our time in Switzerland!
