19.10.2018: Grindelwald, Switzerland

Yesterday, Case and I made the train journey from Geneva to Grindelwald! That included 3 changes, one of which I screwed up and had us get off a stop early, but all in all it was fairly painless. As Casey so elegantly put it, "Travel days are what can make or break a relationship." So far we haven't left each other on a platform to find their own way onward (yet). The key things to keep us happy on these days are snacks, water in some form, a little space from each other when things get a touch heated, and clear directions from people who speak decent English and know where the hell we're supposed to go.

Our Air BnB in Grindelwald is great; the view is amazing and we have everything we need in it, so we've decided to stay here for over a week. It's in such a great area for hiking and a few adventurous activities, two of which we did today at Grindelwald First- the cliff walk and the First Flyer (a zip line down a portion of the mountain). We also hiked to Bachalpsee Lake, which was more of a hike than we anticipated, but then again so is the walk to our studio apartment!

Deciding whether or not I'll survive the cliff walk

Portion of the cliff walk that wraps around to a restaurant and peninsula that juts out over the valley

Case wasn't kidding when he said I avoid grates on sidewalks. I don't mess with them in any form. So, this was a fear-conquering exercise for me, most of which entailed no looking down.

This ain't no thang

Don't mind me while I just zip right across this

Pretending not to enjoy watching me be absolutely mortified

Paragliders taking off to float over the valley and the village of Grindelwald

Made it, but the Asian tourists didn't get the "Minimum 2 Poses Rule", so we took option on waiting and watching repeated ✌ and 😱 selfies

Take the pic and let's blow this Popsicle stand

Forever looking to the right

Found a plaque. Couldn't read it.

"And here's the lake"

Again, Casey's focus skills are in shining form. I caught a little frog for those of you who can't see the fine detail of his little face.

Close Up. Hands are looking smooth.

Farewell little friend.

A fish jumped right before this picture (see the ripples) and I'm pretty positive it thoroughly enjoyed a serving of Cuisses de Grenouilles
