This morning Courtnie and I went paragliding off of First Mountain which was awesome! First Mountain is around 2000 meters above sea level and our paraglide down was about twenty minutes of airtime. We were both surprised at how easily the chutes catch the air when taking off; we basically just had to walk for ten meters and run maybe five and we were up in the air.
My pilot and I went first, so we were the first to land in Grindelwald, but the pilot was busy taking pictures of us with the GoPro as we were descending into the landing zone, and I think he was caught off guard at how close we were to the ground because I heard him start to exclaim and then he kicked his feet forward and so did I. We abruptly landed hard on the frosty knoll, kicking up grass and dirt! He immediately asked if I was alright and I could tell he was very embarrassed because he asked me if I was okay about five times in one minute. I told him that it was fine and he told me how that it is not fine and he shouldn't have allowed it to happen! Courtnie and her pilot Alan had a graceful landing and she pranced off unscathed! I also had to wear a helmet while Court only had to wear a touque with a chinstrap, so that was probably foreshadowing of my landing.
After paragliding we returned to the studio for brunch, then we caught the train to Lauterbrunnen!

Court is seriously considering trying to find one of these caps for winter chores. Claims it was quite cozy. |
^Crash landing footage. Volume on if ya want to hear someone get winded and then profusely apologized to afterwards in the hopes of not getting sued.
