14.11.2018: Bregenz, Austria

We went to bed last night thinking we were going to have enough energy to bike the 7 km into Lindau, catch the train to Bregenz, hike up a mountain, and then bike the 7 km back. Needless to say, we woke up with a lot less enthusiasm when we saw the grey drizzly skies! But we biked in and took the train anyway and toured around the town.

There is a gallery by Zumthor there as well so we made sure to go and see that! We also realized that our travels are now turning in to a Zumthor tour, which neither of us really mind too much, as he's given us lots of reasons to go somewhere we may not have otherwise. Tomorrow is a travel day for us as we make our way to Garmish-Partenkirchen, Germany.

We don't get it.

Decorations for another Christmas Market!

Peter Zumthor's Kunsthaus Bregenz. It was completed a year after the Therme Baths in Vals. It is an art gallery that is constantly in flux as it makes itself accommodate internationally renowned artists, such as Ai Weiwei, and their work.

Concrete cast car.

The gallery acts as a light box, with natural light filtering through the glass façade.
