These past three days we have been in Innsbruck, Austria. We had horrible wifi at the Air BnB we were at, so we weren't able to post! But we had a nice time, and were able to tour around the city including the Christmas Market at the Golden Roof plaza, the Olympic stadium and rink, and the mountain village of Hungerburg. Unfortunately the cable car that would take us to the top of the mountain was shut down for winter maintenance, and we didn't feel up to a three hour hike straight up the mountain, so we settled for a walk around the town.
We're looking forward to a bit of a longer stay in Salzburg, where we will be branching out a little to hopefully hike to see the Eagle's Nest and do a day trip to Hallstatt.

We went back during the day and they had the alleys adorned with large puppets of storybook characters - a lot we weren't familiar with and the descriptions were in German |

These skates were AWFUL. We only lasted maybe 15 minutes on the ice. I couldn't scratch a lottery ticket with those blades. |

Dengg Kiachl... my new favourite thing. Basically fried bread, with the choice of three toppings: Lingon berries (which are tart, kind of like cranberries), plain with powdered sugar, or sauerkraut! So so good. |

The light show projected onto three sides of the interior courtyard within the palace. |
