Well, we've had a few slower past couple days! We made it to Düsseldorf and have been able branch out to a few other nearby cities, namely Cologne and Bonn. There are Christmas Markets galore, and we've been able to go through several churches and museums to learn more about Germany as a country.
Today is our last day in Germany, and tomorrow we head to Belgium! The trip has gone by fast, considering we're now on our last few weeks before heading home for the holidays!

| Inside the Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom in German) |
| The stained glass was huge and impressive |
| Casey's favourite Saint: Saint Christopher |
| The golden shrine in the glass case is believed to have held the remains of The Three Wise Men |
| Super intricate mosaic work throughout the floors in the cathedral |
| The cathedral suffered 14 hits by aerial bombs during WWII, but it was able to remain standing for the most part in an otherwise flattened city. |
| Looking towards the packed Christmas Market |
| The River Rhine |
| Thousands and thousands of love locks on the Hohenzollern Bridge |
December 4: We took the train to Bonn, and walked to the "Museum Mile". There we went into their
House of the History of the Federal Republic of Germany. Again, there was so much information that we ended up spending the majority of our afternoon going through it.
| Prisoner uniforms from the concentration camps during WWII, as well as the different patches worn by prisoners. |
| The museum started from WWII and moved forwards in time throughout 4 floors . It covered everything from politics, economics, and social influences in Germany during those time periods. |
| A typical cinema ticket booth |
| Vintage Pez dispenser |
| A display on the import of global commodities in the '60s. |
| Waiting to see if any English subtitles will pop up. |
| Barbies and cosmetics from the '50s. |
| Someday I'll own one of these bad boys. |
| Bonn is a really pretty city with beautiful architecture. The sunset didn't hurt. |
| It is also the home of Beethoven! |
| Posters people put up after the World War searching for loved ones. |
| After the war, the Red Cross were the ones who initially tried to track down family members and reunite those who had been separated. Eventually they received federal support, and were able to bring together 7 million people. |
| Propaganda from WWII |
| Artifacts from Dachau Concentration Camp |
December 1: I had to include a photo of the horrible van we had when we were in the Black Forest. Unfortunately, Enterprise never called Case to see how our experience had been, so he couldn't give them a piece of his mind for giving the two of us this monstrous gas guzzler.
| What we would've given to have been driving a BMW down the AutoBahn... Oh right. Probably around €150 and our original booking reference would've done it. |
| At least we got a fast train! The DeutchBahn ICE are probably some of the fastest. |
| One of our lunches at the Düsseldorf Christmas Market: sauteed mushrooms with garlic cream sauce and pure white bread. Nothing but nutritious German meals for us. |
