14-16.12.2018: London, England

Well, today was the last day of our 3 month long adventure! Case and I have been extremely fortunate to have been able to meet up with Lena and Keith for these last few days before heading home. It was so nice to see familiar faces again, and it also worked out that Barbara and David were able to catch up with us for a bit as well while we were in London. We consider Lena and Keith close family to us, and hopefully they will make it over to Canada for the wedding so we can spoil them with the same hospitality that they showed us while we were here!

We were able to fit in quite a lot in two days, and experienced the Churchill War Rooms, Trafalgar Square, Covent Gardens, and The British Museum! We lucked out as well with the weather, and it didn't rain the entire time we were here (thank goodness).

Trafalgar Square

Conference Room in the Churchill War Rooms

I'm not sure if Keith, after being fitfully soaked through after walking in the rain, is feeling "fine and warm" quite yet...

All original signage

A cross section of the reinforced concrete and metal deck they had put in place to make the shelter bomb proof, although it is suspected that it might not have held up if it were bombed during the war, which miraculously it wasn't..

Keys for all of the rooms

A stairwell that was filled in with concrete to block this stairwell during the war; it was drilled through afterwards for the sake of the exhibits.

Not used to all that sunshine!

The Three Stooges

Conspiring on how to get Lena and I to hurry up

Lena, me and Keith, happy as can be!

Good thing they know how to use an atlas, because Case is lost.

Covent Garden and some giant mistletoe! Not sure if Keith and Lena snuck in a smooch, but we didn't!

These floating guys had everyone mystified...

...except Keith and Casey, who stayed around long enough to debunk the magic.

This creepy pooch better not be under my Christmas tree.

Keith telling us how this guy is able to do the tricks. Consensus: we are no longer that impressed.

Wait.. How is that guy floating?

Westminster Abbey. We had cream tea (a new favourite of ours!) in the church's cellarium.

Some artifacts that were pulled from Stonehenge at The British Museum

Keith leading the charge, and Case trying to navigate

One play I wish I had been able to take in since finishing the Harry Potter series during the trip!

Unfortunately the best view of Big Ben we'll get.
